MUGABE A LIABILITY- MDC Youth Assembly

MDC-YA Sec. General Discent Bajila
President Robert Mugabe has become a national liability and must vacate office to pave way from for a new crop of leadership, MDC Youth Assembly National Chairman Gideon Mandaza has said.
Addressing Day of the African Child celebrations held at Bulawayo Theatre this Saturday Mandaza said it was high time young people took the bull by its horns and push ZANU PF and Robert Mugabe out of power. “The time has come for us to stand up and be counted. We have to be as bold as the Youth of South Africa in 1976. They stood up and said no to apartheid. Yes some died, but that death motivated many to fight even more”, Mandaza said.

The firebrand Youth leaders further castigated the MDC T for behaving as the big brothers of the fight against ZANU PF. “There are also these other ones who want to pretend as the big bulls in the kraal. However we all have seen how they have mastered and perfected ZANU PF’s art of deception. They come to you and say we are the best but reality in the affairs and degradation of council tells you of their actual capacity. They are not an option for you”, he said.

Addressing the same gathering, the Youth Assembly Secretary Discent Bajila castigated the Minister of Finance Tendai Biti for conniving with Central Africa Building Society (CABS) in sabotaging the Distressed Industries and Marginalised Areas Fund (DIMAF). “We have it on record that during the 1985 elections, Enerst Kadungure led a team of students and other activists aligned to ZANU PF in campaigning for their party in Matabeleland districts. A team comprising of Tendai Biti and Gabriel Chaibva operated in Tsholotsho. Any person who operated a ZANU PF agenda in 1985 in Matebeleland must have been daring and bent on the activities that you all know of. We wonder if the sabotaging of DIMAF is not a continuation of the 1985 excitement” Bajila said.

The celebrations were also attended by the Youth Assembly Deputy Secretary General Cecillia Chimbiri, Deputy Organising Secretary Celani Ncube, Recruitment Secretary Kudakwashe Munengiwa, Secretary for Political Education Adrew Nyathi and Secretary for Legal Affairs, Defence and Security Mbuso Fuzwayo amongst others.

The MDC 16 June celebrations were held under the theme ‘Devolution in our lifetime for sustainable livelihoods’ and attended by an estimated 1000 members.
